Rip Torn - Biografija
Američki je glumac, muzički umjetnik i komičar, koji je rođen 6. februara 1931 u Temple, Texas,, a umro je 9. jula 2019. u svojoj kući u Lakevilleu, u Connecticutu.
Torn je bio član Texas A&M univerzitetskog korpusa kadeta , iako je diplomirao na Teksaškom univerzitetu gdje je studirao glumu pod Shakespeareovim profesorom B. Iden Payneom , i bio je član Alpha Nu poglavice bratstvo Sigma Chi . Nakon diplomiranja, služio je u vojnoj policiji u vojsci Sjedinjenih Država.
Nakon što se preselio u Hollywood , Torn je debitovao u filmu Baby Doll iz 1956. godine. Torn je zatim studirao u Actors studiju u New Yorku pod Lee Strasbergom , postajući plodan glumac, pojavljujući se u originalnom glumačkom komadu Tennessee Williamsa , Sweet Bird of Youth , i ponovo uloga u filmskim i televizijskim adaptacijama. Dok je boravio u New Yorku, Torn je upoznao svog rođaka Sissy Spacek sa zabavnim biznisom i pomogao joj da se upiše u Actors Studio.
Torn se pojavio u deset broadwayskih drama i režirao jednu. Godine 1959. snimio je svoj debi na Broadwayu kada je svirao Tom Juniora u Sweet Bird of Youth , za koji je osvojio nagradu Theatre World i dobio nominaciju za nagradu Tony .
Privatni život
Njegov prvi brak je bio sa glumicom Ann Wedgeworth sa kojom je bio 5 godina u braku i sa kojim ima kćerku, Danae Torn. Potom se oženio Geraldine Page , i oni su ostali u braku do njene smrti 1987. godine i imaju kćerku, koja je također glumica Angelica Page, i sinove blizance: također glumce Tony Torn i Jon Torn. Potom se oženio glumicom Amy Wright 1989. godine sa kojom ima dvoje djece, Katie i Claire Torn.
