Alwin Lopez “Al” Jarreau – Biografija

Američki je pjevač i muzičar, rođen 12. marta 1940. godine u Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S., a umro 12. februara 2017. godine u Los Angelesu, California, U.S..

Dobio je ukupno sedam Grammy nagrada i bio nominiran za više od deset. Jarreau je najpoznatiji po svom albumu iz 1981. godine “Breakin ‘Away“.

Ljubav prema muzici je naslijedio od oca koji je bio adventista sedmog dana Crkva ministar i pjevač, a majka mu je bila crkvena pijanistkinja, a kao porodica svi zajedno su pjevali na crkvenim koncertima.

Jarreau, pored ljubavi prema muzici jako se interesovao za nauku tako da je 1962. godine diplomirao na Bachelor of Science smijer psihologija, a dvije godine kasnije, tačnije 1964. godine, stekao je magisterij za profesionalnu rehabilitaciju na University of Iowa , a radio je i kao rehabilitacijski savjetnik u San Francisku.

Pjevač je udružio snage sa akustičnim gitaristom Julio Martinezom i postali su glavna atrakcija u malom mjestu Sausalito u noćnom klubu koji se zove Gatsby-a. Ovaj uspjeh bio je ključan da se profesionalno počne baviti pjevanjem i da to postane njegov život.

Privatni život
U braku je bio sa Phyllis Hall, sa kojom nije imao djece. Potom je bio u braku sa modelom Susan Elaine i imaju sina.
